Timothy James Peterson, a young man whose infectious smile could light up any room, left this world far too soon on Sunday, July 16, 2023. His untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Timothy's life was a testament to the power of a vibrant personality, a remarkable sense of humor, and an unwavering dedication to helping others.

Timothy was born on September 24, 2001 in Wytheville, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kimberly Worley.

Timothy was a true kid at heart, he would watch a Disney movie every day. His laughter was contagious, and his presence had a remarkable way of brightening any room. Whether it was through a well-timed joke or a warm smile, he had an incredible ability to uplift those in his company. His infectious energy was simply magnetic, drawing people towards him and creating a sense of friendship and joy wherever he went. Timothy graduated from Ashe County High School in 2021 and worked for Skyline Telephone.

Luke Osborne qualifies for Nationals

Luke Osborn

Luke Osborne, a rising Senior, has qualified for the prestigious honor of going to the USA Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota. Last year, Luke O. and teammate Luke Sheets were the first scholarship recipients from the Timothy Peterson Memorial Foundation. The foundation was able to assist in flying them to Des Moines, Iowa for the preseason Nationals Wrestling Tournament.

This year, the foundation is proud to sponsor Luke Osborne at 68 kg as he represents team North Carolina. The TPMF has graciously provided $400 for travels matched by Ashe Fundraising also for $400. Osborne will begin by traveling to Campbell University to train with fellow qualifiers from NC for 3 days before traveling to North Dakota to take on nationally ranked competition. This is one of the most prestigious honors a wrestler can achieve and is one of Luke’s biggest dreams.

After becoming a 2023-2024 NC State Champion at 144lbs, he has trained hard all summer attending several camps and clinics to become stronger, more skilled, and an overall more well rounded competitor. Luke said, “I am extremely thankful to everyone that has supported me with donations to be able to go and work hard for team NC.” The Timothy Peterson Memorial Foundation looks forward to seeing what this young man accomplishes representing Team North Carolina.

The TPMF is excited to partner with Jason Brown to give this truck away to some lucky person. $100 donation will enter you a chance to win. Click for more information

First Scholarships

Luke and Luke

The first scholarships went out from the Timothy Peterson Memorial Foundation. The two recipients were Luke Osborne and Luke Sheets

They each received $400 to help pay for their flight to the Preseason nationals wrestling tournament in Des Moines Iowa. Both of them were NC high school state qualifiers along with Timothy Petersons younger Brother Matthew Peterson who went on to play football at Emory & Henry university. These young men were team captains and have worked hard and are continuing to advance their goals. Competing at a national wrestling tournament and traveling by themselves is another chance to grow.

Luke Sheets was a 4 year varsity starter for the Ashe County Huskies and team caption and has traveled to Des Moines with Luke Osborne and a training partner. Luke Osborne is a Junior this year and one of the youngest team captains last year and also a state qualifier.

Luke Osborne is working in the off season to get another state champion for the huskies and this proves it traveling all the way to Iowa for the toughest competition in the nation.
